Dan Arant has been a National Park Service volunteer sine 1993 and serves at the Vietnam Memorial and the WWII Memorial. His current topics are: Pearl Harbor, Midway, and Iwo Jima. Future planned topics are: The Battle of the Atlantic, Japan's Kamikaze Force, and the Surrener Ceremony on the USS Missouri. Each talk is supported by 8x10 photos prvided by the U.S. Naval Institute. dan served in the Marine Corps Reserve, Navy Reserve, and active duty Navy, to include a year in Vietnam with the U.S. Naval Advisory Group. He retired as a civilian from the Office of Naval Intelligence
When you are flying your hub in, you might want to contact Dan about his availability for a lecture. Each lecture is twenty minutes. You will see him on the South side of the Memorial with boards of photographs lined up along the marble benches. I will be psting his regularly scheduled lectures.
